Direct flights from New York will resume on June 1, 2024.
With three scheduled flights per week, United Airlines offers 23,400 seats on the market for the current year. Both during the summer and winter months. So this time non-stop.
To flee
This American airline flies from the United States on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the winter season) and from Tenerife on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the winter season). Each flight lasts approximately seven hours and is operated with a B757-200 aircraft, which has 176 seats:
-16 United Polaris business class
-160 economy class seats, including 42 Economy PlusSM seats with extra legroom

The extension of the direct flight also during the winter months is great news for the island and vital for the successful implementation of Tenerife’s strategy to access better quality target markets. The travellers from the US and Canada stay longer and have a greater spending capacity. Also, multiple business opportunities are generated for Tenerife in different sectors.
For Tenerife Tourism CEO Dimple Melwani, "the extension of the direct connection between Newark (New York) and Tenerife South is a great opportunity for the island in the American market where interest in Tenerife continues to grow". Melwani uses the figures to highlight that "in recent years we have seen an increase in travelers from the United States and Canada".
For the winterers and residents among us : a trip to and from New York from Tenerife… Nice, isn’t it!
And for the people in the catering industry : Americans consider a tip of at least 10% to be the most normal thing ;)
