Tenerife
the island of eternal spring
Two heritage sites of humanity, a national park and 42 protected natural areas are some of the treasures you can discover in Tenerife. Live unique experiences alone, with your partner, in the company of friends or with your family thanks to the wide range of activities that will make your stay on the island unforgettable…
Tenerife is wrongly associated with mass tourism and cheap package holidays. Anyone who steps outside the hotel and enters the hiking trails will discover that the island of eternal spring is overwhelmingly beautiful and has so much more to offer than just sea and sand.
Tenerife is blessed with a beautiful and exceptionally varied nature. The giant cliffs, banana plantations and vineyards, the Mediterranean pine forests, the volcanic bays with brilliant black sand, the mysterious landscape of solidified lava flows and deep ravines and the snow-capped peak of the majestic Teide rising from the azure ocean make this a unique place. With its impressive 3718 meters, the dormant volcano is the highest mountain peak in Spain and divides the island into two climatic zones.
The lush, green north, covered with subtropical plants, and the sunny, dry south, where most of the tourist resorts are located, seem like two different worlds. Tenerife is so much more than sun and beaches.
Those who base their holiday on lots of sun, beach, hotel comfort, blissful idleness and shopping will find what they are looking for in Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos or Puerto de la Cruz. However, those who expect more have the remaining 2000 km² at their disposal. Cycling, hiking, culture, impressive mountains, beautiful views and wonderful fauna and flora. The subtropical plant splendor with the sunny climate emphasize the charm of the island. It is a cultural melting pot of living traditions from an eventful history.

In Tenerife you can forget the winter climate for a while. Tenerife has a pleasant temperature all year round with the sun shining at you from every angle.
And that's not all. Tenerife has been declared by UNESCO as one of the healthiest places in the world to live. There is practically no industrial pollution. Exhaust fumes are reduced to zero thanks to the favourable ocean winds and the Teide. In addition, it is the ideal place to stay for rheumatism and people with joint problems and asthma patients.
Life is cheaper in Tenerife than here. It is not without reason that more and more compatriots are leaving the grey climate behind and settling in what used to be their favourite attraction. In other words, Tenerife is a dream destination for backpacking nature lovers, as well as the third youth and partying sun worshippers.
TIPS
Most visitors to Tenerife stay close to their hotel. Almost all hotels are located in the southwest, (in the originally arid region) between Adeje and Los Cristianos. You can walk for many kilometers and as sights there are sea and beach, bars, shops, restaurants, hotels, chemists and shopping centers….
For the more adventurous, this will soon bore you. Go to Los Cristianos to the market, or better yet, to the harbour, and take the ferry to La Gomera. Walk into that car rental centre at your hotel, and rent a car for a few days. Renting a car in Tenerife is cheap. If you decide to drive north along the Teide, and then return along one of the coastal roads (a few hours' drive at most, including stops), you will have crossed several varied regions in a short time: beach where people are sunbathing, hotel complexes, desert, pine forests, steppe, volcanic landscapes with rough chunks of stone where you would not even be able to move a metre on foot, snow-capped mountain peaks, scrub, banana plantations, meadows, even areas with tropical vegetation. A great deal of variety in a short time and a feast for the eyes.
